BIG UNC (Believer in God, Unleashing New Creativity) is a well established West Coast recording artist who has made a name for himself on the underground rap scene. With his unique style of faith-based lyrics and West Coast G funk, BIG-UNC has inspired thousands with his no-compromise style of music.
Raised in a Baptist home, Jason Carter AKA BIG-UNC gave his life to Christ at an early age. But by his teenage years, Jason’s outlook on life dramatically changed. Influenced by the street life (like so many of our youth today) BIG-UNC would stray from his religious upbringing to embrace the street culture. What was fun at first quickly became the opposite. After being shot at, arrested, and the loss of close friends and relatives, Jason decided enough was enough. It took a near death experience to open his eyes to the fact that God was real and He had a purpose for his life. Shortly after Jason’s revelation, He was reborn and the birth of BIG-UNC came to be. Vowing to serve God with his talents, BIG-UNC set out to reach those that where on the same path of destruction that he had been delivered from. What once was done at house parties for fun, is now being done on stages across the united states for Gods glory! Since the nationwide release of his debut album Westside “G” Style, many doors have opened up for this spirit-led rap artist such as radio interviews, speaking engagements, prison ministry, feeding the homeless and high school crusades. In 2004, Unc appeared on an underground compilation full of platinum recording artist to help stop the gang violence in our communities. Continuing in his strong belief in God, BIG-UNC stays devoted to using his talents by promoting awareness of the consequences of a life without God, while demonstrating a purposed-filled life of a believer. Standing at 6 foot 5, weighing 295 pounds, BIG-UNC features a commanding rap voice that draws attention to him and his lyrics enabling him to show the world you don’t have to become weak, timid or soft to be a believer in Christ. But that we are called to be world-changers and walk proud knowing we are saved and have the victory through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. |
